Everyone can help make the internet just a little better
Uninstall or disable Google Chrome on all your devices.
Recoverit has a guide for getting that awful browser out of town.
Uninstall Chrome:
What if I have no choice but to use Google Chrome?
This can happen especially in work or school environments where a central IT team control what can and can’t be installed on your devices. In schools, ‘Chromebooks’, cheap laptops which come with Google bloatware pre-installed are becoming more common. Google Chrome will be the default browser on any Chromebook and can’t be removed.
If you have no choice but to use Chrome, Privacy International (PI) has produced a simple guide Adjusting Chrome settings to enhance your online privacy which will help you to make the best of the browser settings making Chrome a little less invasive.
- Install an automatic consent pop-up filler on Chrome (and derivatives)
- Block Trackers on Chrome (and derivatives)
- Install a CDN-emulator on Chrome (and derivatives)
- Install a user agent switcher on Chrome (and derivatives)
